Cube Entertainment announces (G)I-DLE Soojin’s withdrawal from the group

(G)I-DLE’s Soojin is leaving the group.

On August 14th, Cube Entertainment announced her withdrawal on their official United Cube fansite.

It reads:

“Hello.
“This is Cube Entertainment.

“First of all, we apologize for the concern caused by the controversy involving Seo Soojin from our company.

“We are informing you that as of today we have decided for Soojin to withdraw from the team.

“Moving on, as (G)I-DLE continues their activities as a five-member group, we will do everything we can to give our best efforts and support to (G)I-DLE in showing more mature music and performances.

“Thank you.”

Soojin was embroiled in controversy when she was named the perpetrator of school violence in February earlier this year. At the time, Cube Entertainment, the agency, filed a complaint against netizens who posted revelations on the online community, denying all allegations of school violence.

However, after actress Seo Shinae, a classmate of hers, also confessed to being a victim of school violence, Soojin and her agency soon fell quiet. However, after about six months they decided to withdraw her from the group.
