BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Rosé are working on new music.
At the end of last month, Jennie and Rosé flew to Los Angeles and were spotted shopping in town. It then became a hot topic as to why they were in the city. Foreign media speculated that the two BLACKPINK members may have visited this time again for another collaboration. BLACKPINK have collaborated in the past with famous pop artists such as Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, and Cardi B.
To these speculations, YG Entertainment confirmed to TopStarNews on July 2nd that, “Jennie and Rosé are visiting the U.S. to work on music.”
BLACKPINK, who debuted in 2016, have had a string of hits such as “Playing with Fire” and “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and worked on foreign collaborations such “Kiss & Make Up” with Dua Lipa, “Sour Candy” with Lady Gaga, “Ice Cream” with Selena Gomez, and “Bet You Wanna” with Cardi B. The members have been active individually as well: Jennie’s “SOLO” debut in 2018, Rose with album “-R-” in 2021, Jisoo with her filming drama “Snowdrop,” and Lisa with her upcoming solo and appearances as a mentor on Chinese idol survival show “Youth With You.”
BLACKPINK is currently working on its ‘4+1 Project’ to mark the fifth anniversary of their debut. The movie “BLACKPINK: the Movie” will be released in August as the project’s first part. The movie is known to contain video clips of “The Show” concert stages and interviews with the members.
Fans speculate that the visit to the U.S. is linked to the “4+1 Project.” As BLACKPINK has previously collaborated with US pop singers, fans believe that they are working on new music through this visit to the U.S.
